Organically Grown Agricultural Products

More than 25 years ago Berthold Dreher, Founder and Owner of “dreher bio gmbh”, formerly known as Dreher Agrarrohstoffe GmbH, discovered his passion for organically grown agricultural products. His first experience was with the regional “Bioland-Getreide” and “Demeter-Milch” producer alliances.

Following, he spent time in the production and marketing of organic beverages as well as diverse work in organic grain marketing for companies in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

Expansion in the Organic Grain Trade

The breakthrough to independence came with the founding of his own company in early 2004 in his hometown of Ostrach in order to make his own ideas a reality. With the founding of further companies, such as Organic Trading Ltd.”, Berthold Dreher responded to the changing demand of the organic industry and significant expansion took place in the area of organic grain primarily.

Founding of “Dreher Agrarrohstoffe GmbH” – now “dreher bio gmbh”

The family grew along with the business which caused a move from Ostrach to Lustenau in Voralberg and the founding of “Dreher Agrarrohstoffe GmbH” in Amtzell responsible for all the company’s organic agricultural products business. In April 2020, “Dreher Agrarrohstoffe GmbH” changed names to “dreher bio gmbh”.

Particularly due to the shift of shares of sales from organic grain to refined organic products, Berthold Dreher now dares to venture into storage and processing in order to move his company forward.

Starting at late May 2015, the company headquarter is now located at Hatternholzweg 4 in the “Wangen-Schauwies” business park with ample office space as well as bulk goods and bag storage capacities for organic grain and seed.

All of the company’s trade originates there. At the close of 2015, the new Oberschwaben oil mill started operations at this site producing exclusively high quality, organic oils.

Long-term Contact Throughout Europe and Beyond

The dealer’s original task of bridging the gap between farmer and consumer remains the main focus and pillar of the operation. Long-term personal contacts with farmers, producer alliances, cooperatives and dealers regionally as well as across Europe back up a consistent supply of organic raw materials of varying degrees. The newly expanded storage facilities for organic grain, seed and oils also allow for contract cultivation with regional farmers.
